First of all, please accept our apologies for the lack of news and updates to this site. Certainly, you expected to see regular posts with pictures from the wedding as the events took place, and it was actually our intention to provide you with that.
Although it is late, here is a summary of the posts that you would have seen in the last month if we had had better access to the internet (and not been so busy with other things):
August 19 - “Beyond all expectations”
In this post, we would have described how the day of our dream wedding unfolded, beginning at 10 in the morning on a beautiful sunny day. At that time, the groomsmen and pastor met Jonathan at the apartment where he was staying. After a short word from the pastor and a prayer, the men caravaned over to Laura’s house where the Bride and Bridesmaids were waiting. Again, there was a word from the pastor, a prayer and the procession eventually continued on to the church.
At the church, we had a beautiful ceremony from 1pm to 3pm with messages from our father, Mr. Bush, and brother, Daniel Lar, as well as from the pastors Bart Justice and Daniel Darie. Our friends and family members also blessed us with songs and poems at the ceremony. It was a very memorable and emotional time, and not many dry eyes were left at the end.
After the church service, we had an elegant reception in a tent up on the mountain. The food was great, the mood was upbeat and joyous, and scenery was absolutely gorgeous. We were at times overwhelmed with the sense of the Lord’s blessing in it all. The reception lasted from 4pm until 11pm when we told everyone they should finally go home!
August 20-25 - The honeymoon posts
This would have been a series of 5 posts, each on a different day from a different Greek city or island that we visited on our meditteranean cruise. The highlights of the trip were our visits to the ancient city of Ephesus and to the scenic post-card island of Santorini. It was a great time for us to unwind and relax after the stress of a wedding.
August 28,29 - Bucharest
In this time, we had to go to the capital city of Romania to apply for Laura’s visa to enter the US as a permanent resident. In the first post, we would have probably mentioned how we were praying that everything would go well in this process, because we had had some difficulty with the paperwork on our first visit to the embassy here. In the second post, we would have told you of the Lord’s faithfulness to us and how incredibly (and abnormally) easy it was to get everything we needed. Slava Domnului!
August 31 - Back home
This post would have announced our arrival back in the states. It would have been short because we would have been writing it at about midnight after more than 24 hours of travelling, including missed flights in France and lost luggage in Atlanta. (We eventually got everything back!)
